Owner Reviews

  • "Michelle loves each and every one of her
Sphynx babies and it shows in the way she
cares for them before you get to take your
nakid home! She would send me
updates/photos and even let me visit my
Toad multiple times before he was ready
to go. I would highly recommend her
    cattery!

  • "I dont have one of her beauties YET. But
as I've told Michelle I used to think they
were weird looking. But after seeing her
babies I've grown to love these kittens. I
didn't realize cats could have so much
    personality ❤"

My youngest daughter had a complete mental breakdown 2 days
after her birthday and I ended up taking her to PCMC. They
admitted her to UNI. It was truly the longest night. She was there
for 5 days and now she is doing a PHP program for the next 3
weeks then 3 days a week for 8 weeks. This parenting thing is not
for the weak. This last 10 days has been HARD!

Our cat truly saved my daughter, that Friday she was putting a
butcher knife to her wrist and thigh thinking about “cutting” and
suicidal thoughts. As she was doing this, our cat was watching her
on the counter and just looking very concerned. When she put the
knife back on her wrist he meowed so loud and it shook her out of
the funk she was in. He then jumped in her arms and licked her. I
know this because I have cameras and it caught it all.

  • I wanted to give you a kitty update I can’t remember his exact
weight I wrote it down at home, but he has been gaining. He eats
like a pig, he has assimilated with our doggy’s. I don’t know how
we ever got along without him. Our hearts have never been so full
and we can’t thank you enough for all that you do, and for raising
him and allowing us to buy from you and running such an amazing
reputable business and putting all the extra effort kindness and
love, into these little souls, that you do we love him so much he
has done wonders for our hearts going through loss and my
mental health he is such a positive addition to our lives and our
    family. Thank you again.

Caring for Sphynx cats and Xoloitzcuintli dogs requires attention to their unique needs due to their lack of fur:

Sphynx Cats: Regular bathing is essential to manage oil and dirt on their skin. Since they can't regulate their temperature well, provide warm
clothing and bedding to keep them comfortable, and protect them from direct sunlight to avoid sunburn. They have a high metabolism and
may require more food than other cats. Keep their ears and nails clean and trimmed regularly. Routine veterinary check-ups are important to
address any skin or health issues.

Xoloitzcuintli Dogs: These dogs also need regular but less frequent baths with a gentle dog shampoo and occasional skin moisturizing.
They require protective clothing in cold weather and sunscreen in hot conditions to manage their body temperature. Xolos are energetic and
need daily physical and mental exercise. Maintain their dental and ear health through regular care. High-quality diet tailored to their size and
energy level is crucial. Regular vet visits are necessary to monitor their overall health and particularly skin condition.

For both breeds, a proactive approach to care, including close monitoring and regular vet visits, will help maintain their health and well-
being.

How do you care for a Sphynx and Xoloitzcuintli?

The Sphynx and Xoloitzcuintli are two distinct breeds, one a cat and the other a dog, both known for their unique appearance, primarily their lack of fur.

Sphynx Cat: The Sphynx cat is known for its hairless appearance, although it is not completely devoid of hair. Its skin feels like a warm peach to the touch. This breed is characterized by large ears, a wrinkled face, and a muscular body. Despite their somewhat alien appearance, Sphynx cats are incredibly friendly, energetic, and affectionate, often seeking warm places or the comfort of human laps to stay warm. The lack of fur leads to increased body oil production, which necessitates regular bathing to keep their skin healthy.

Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless Dog): The Xoloitzcuintli, often called the "Xolo," is one of the world's oldest and rarest breeds, with a history that dates back over 3,000 years to the ancient Aztecs. The breed comes in three sizes: toy, miniature, and standard, and has two varieties: hairless and coated. The hairless variety has smooth, tough skin and sometimes has a short tuft of hair on its head and tail. Xolos are known for their calm demeanor, loyalty, and intelligence. They are good watchdogs and companions. Similar to the Sphynx, the hairless variety requires skin care to protect against weather extremes and sunburn.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both Sphynx cats and Xoloitzcuintli dogs are often considered good options for people with allergies, but it's important to note that no breed
is completely hypoallergenic.

Sphynx Cats: These cats are known for their lack of fur, which can reduce the presence of allergens since they don't shed fur like other cats.
However, they still produce dander and a protein in their saliva that can trigger allergies. Regular bathing can help minimize dander, but it's
not a complete solution.

Xoloitzcuintli Dogs: These dogs have very short hair or are almost entirely hairless, which may reduce allergen levels. Like the Sphynx, they
still produce dander and saliva, which are common allergens, but their lack of fur can make them a better choice for some allergy sufferers.

For both breeds, potential owners with allergies should spend time with the animals before making a decision, as individual sensitivities to
allergens can vary.

Are Sphynx or Xoloitzcuintli hypoallergenic?

The cost of each pet can vary based on several factors, including the animal’s age, color, pedigree, and any special markings or rare

My Story

My son passed away due to suicide. I wasn’t doing very well and couldn’t even get out of bed or function properly. I realized that I needed to do something or else I would lose my house. That’s when I came across a hairless kitty (who isn’t so hairless anymore), and it changed my world. I started feeling better and eventually got better. It dawned on me that I could help others in crisis by providing them with their very own “love bug”. And so, Majestic Nakids began.
